Round 1, fight!

Queer As Folk (american version) vs. The L Word -- bear in mind I've only seen one full episode of the latter. But there will be others!

QAF: Lots of fit, attractive men (most of whom are either too earnest or jerks or too muscled) and a token (hot) lesbian couple who bickers too much
TLW: Lots of beautiful, hot women

QAF: Relationship-driven plot hampered by "gay issue of the week" syndrome
TLW: Relationship-driven plot

QAF: Teenager being seduced by older man
TLW: Young woman with live-in boyfriend being seduced by tall, dark goddess w/ hispanic accent

QAF: Lesbian couple procreating by getting their gay friends to donate
TLW: Lesbian couple trying to procreate by seducing straight art student

QAF: Throbbing club music
TLW: Sexy, unobtrusive music

QAF: Brian
TLW: Shane (not a jerk so far, just sleeps with everyone)

Need I go on? Aside from the subject matter being more to my liking, TLW is a better-made show, in my opinion. QAF always drags in places and there are waaaaaaaay too many close-ups of Michael looking earnest and sweet and slightly wounded, of Brian looking like a jackass who's trying to care, of Ted feeling like a loser, etc.
