My cat is a singularly strange creature. She's meowing at me right now because I'm not paying attention to her. Her idea of attention being me slapping her side while she writhes around on the swivel chair.
At any rate, I'm back from Montreal, where I hit the jackpot. Angel Sanctuary, Basara, Sandman (used) and Blue Monday for me, Marmalade Boy for A-L (and for me to borrow, of course!), even jewelry for my mother and brother! Now that's what I call a worthwhile trip. Now if only I had Angel Sanctuary vol. 4, I could read numbers 5 through 9 that are sitting in my bookcase, just begging to be cracked open. Add to that the four volumes of Blade of the Immortal that M-P lent me, and Sandman vol. 6 that a certain person *didn't* lend me yet... Wah! I need my Gaiman fix, and I didn't even get Stardust, like I wanted!
Another side-effect of my weekend, which has nothing to do with my unfortunate weakness on the metro, was that I discovered Belle & Sebastian (no, not the cartoon!) while wishing I had more money to spend at Urban Outfitters. I swear, I *will* start sewing myself clothes, and they *will* be just as nice as theirs!
Anyway, I'm now downloading mp3s like mad, looking forward to tomorrow so I can go and spend more money, some of it hopefully on Belle & Sebastian CDs. You see, I download mp3s while I wait to have the time/money to buy the real thing, used or not. Because it's so much more satisfying to have the actual legit CD with the cover and booklet art. Burning CDs is great for the stuff I don't really want *that* much, or for making mixes, another activity I plan on doing this coming month. Mood mixes, I think, like a CD of songs that make me want to pack my bag and hit the road, or songs for sweaty summer days.
