In other news, I decided to drop my Chinese classes for the time being; my trip is really starting to weigh on my mind, and I just can't devote the necessary effort to memorizing adverbs and measure words. This is just a temporary cessation of learning, though, I'll get back to it.
I finally found the family journal from our trip of 2000, and it's bloody hilarious -- I didn't remember that the Chipmunk joke went back that far. I'll have to post a few passages from it when I get home. I won't, unfortunately, be able to post the lovely portraits of Fieldy and other things that my vocabularily-impaired brothers (their comments on everything tend to oscillate between "It was good" and "It was crap") decorated it with.
