I'm alive!

Despite an almost 5-hour delay (yes, a long, boring, 5-hour delay), I made it! Now I just have to get used to this weird keyboard.

The delay was actually a good thing, because I arrived here at almost noon, local time, though it was 6 in the morning for me. So now that it's evening, I'm starting to feel suitably tired. I also reserved two more nights here, so that I'll be able to leave my (huge) backpack here and traipse around Paris with only the essentials.

The plane ride was rather uneventful; the meal was even decent, what little of it there was. And explain to me, please, why they gave a little container with slices of tomato and one tiny little sliver of onion. Why the onion? Why bother at all? Or did they somehow know that I wouldn't eat it and decided to put a piece in just on principle?

I took a nap as soon as I got the the hostel (which I got to just in time, the metro system here is weird) and woke up feeling weak and wondering what the hell I had gotten myself into. Then I went out for a walk and consumed some first-rate cheese quiche, which raised my spirits considerably. I walked around for a bit more and bought myself some snack food; I think I'll be able to keep food spending to a minimum if I stick to grocery stores and bakeries, especially since breakfast is included in the price, here.

Gerard, est-ce que j'aurais laisse l'adresse d'Alex chez toi, par hasard? Je pense que je ne l'ai plus!

I also almost got hit by a Parisian delivery truck, stupidly assuming that the green light was telling me I could cross the street. Silly me.

Hugs and kisses to all!
I think this stupid machine just ate my post.
