So, how many of you knew that the Netherlands share a land border with Lebanon? Not a whole lot of you, I'll bet! Well, neither did I, until a very odd dream I had a couple of weeks ago.

I completed the work for which I was contracted last Friday, a whole week ahead of schedule. To nobody's surprise, really. But I'll still be working these three coming days, as there's other stuff to do that I said I'd help out with.

I'm leaving for Vietnam on Friday, that means in five days. Is Blodeuedd ready? Of *course* she isn't! What does she still have to do/buy? *Lots* of stuff!

First of all, I need to get money and traveler's checks. I need to get my legs done, I need to go over my packing list to figure out what I'm still missing. I need to concoct a first-aid kit for two, think long and hard about the necessity of bringing a sleeping bag and a mosquitoe net. I need a pair of cheap plastic thongs (and you'd think those would be easy to find, wouldn't you, but you'd be surprised, because apparently I'm out of the loop and cheap plastic thongs just aren't in this season, even at that place on Somerset) and some decent socks. I need to choose which of the adorable notebooks I bought yesterday is coming along with me. I need to take measurements to have dresses made. I need to find a book to take with me. I need to try to spend some time with everyone who matters before I leave, but I think I'll manage, somehow.

In non-trip related stuff, I have to call back a lady from the Quebec Ministry of Finance (what the hell do *they* want with me?!) and clean my room. Or at least toss everything into my closet. I've got a boyfriend who's doing his big interview to test his French skills tomorrow, and my mother's planned a celebratory salmon supper.

And I just know I'm forgetting stuff. Ah, well, my head will be clearer tomorrow, I hope.

It's hard to believe that I'm leaving in less than a week... I think I'm more nervous now that I was before leaving for Europe, but that could be because a) I know what I'm getting myself into, this time, and b) Big Bad MP's stress is rubbing off on me. But no matter, everything will be fine. We have our tickets, our visas, our Lonely Planets and our anti-malaria pills; what could go wrong?

But all that aside, this summer, or what little time I've had of it in Canada, has gone by much too fast... I'll have spent a grand total of six weeks in Aylmer from the middle of May to the beginning of September. Not bad for an almost-virgin globetrotter, eh?
