For those of you wondering where I am at the moment, I'm in New York! And it's not my fault!

Last night, there was a Code Red warning for the whole eastern seabord, meaning that no planes could land or take off from JFK airport, where we were supposed to land at 8 to catch our 11:55 connection to Taipei. Well, we waited around at the airport for a while, and finally rescheduled our flight for 7 this morning. This left us with the prospect of either spending the night at airport or paying for a hotel room. Fortunately, M-P's very kind father picked us up and took us home, then got up with us at 4 am so that we could be at the airport at 5.

Our flight was uneventful, but it was in this really cute little plane that had only 2 seats on either side of the aisle. There was hardly anyone in it; U.S. Airways can't attract customers, or what?

We landed at La Guardia Airport at 9. For those of you who noticed, that is not the airport we were originally supposed to land at. Our other two flights were bumped back a day, exactly the same time and everything, so we have to be at JFK tonight for our Taipei.

We are now at a friend of Patrick's apartment in Manhattan. I'm going to take a shower and then we're going out for lunch. We haven't yet had breakfast and I'm starving!

Hopefully, there will be no more delays, and the next time I write we'll be in another time zone.
