Farewell to Vietnam...
Sep. 1st, 2002 02:05 pmUnless something major happens, like there not being seats for us on the plane because we still haven't been able to get through to China Airlines, this is the last update I'll post from Asia. At least for the next little while! ^_^
The flight from Hanoi to HCMC was totally uneventful - the plane even left on time! The flight lasted a little under 2 hours, and we were served lunch, which was edible. They also showed "The Scorpion King", but it was projected onto a screen at the front and had Vietnamese subtitles, as there was no sound, and the flight wasn't long enough to see the whole thing, so we missed the end. What a shame.
Apparently, the domestic airlines don't sell coach tickets to foreigners, because we were in the front of the plane, in wider seats than we're accustomed to, which was nice. And at check-in, my backpack weighed in at a hefty 19.5kg, almost going over the 20kg limit. It probably didn't weigh half as much when I left Canada...
So now, some last-minute shopping, a visit to the China Airlines office, maybe a meal, and that's it. Our month here is over, and we have to back to our regular lives, which aren't quite as exotic as what we've been doing recently, but are very good all the same. And we'll get to bore you all to death with our pictures and the millions of pieces of clothing we (ok, mostly I) bought and our various tour guides and all the wonderful *ahem* buses we took. Aren't you looking forward to that?
