Deep ponderings
Sep. 16th, 2003 05:20 pmSo, what's the deal with Emiliana Torrini's Bjork-like pronunciation and phrasing? Is it actually an Icelandic accent or is it an affectation? Does it have something to do with Iceland's folk songs?
It's funny that Hawksley Workman is the name around town, now. Andrea was raving about him at least a year ago, when there was nothing of his even on Kazaa.
It strikes me as amusing that I'm considered an "adult"; I feel like I'm playing a terrific joke on everyone and they don't realise I'm still a little girl playing dress-up. I have to laugh at myself, it's all so strange. Living on my own? Washing and cooking for myself? Having a good job I like and that pays well enough for me to spend on things I like and want on top of things I need? It's not really me, is it?
When I started thinking about going to Europe, I thought it would take much more preparation than it actually did and I began to suspect that most things in life were like that. If I want it or want to do it, the first step is always the most daunting and it's all easy cruising from then on.
