Jorane's concert was something else. During one song she got the audience to sing along, repeating the same three notes as she harmonized and the instruments gradually faded away. It was magical.

Guy Gavriel Kay's latest is out... Now the problem is that I have no library card and I don't want to buy a hardcover. Though I suppose I could get my brother to check at the U of O library to see if they have it.

G and I went to Travel Cuts and reserved our tickets -- and it's a good thing we did, because the travel agent even had trouble finding us a flight home! But everything looks fine: I leave for Frankfurt on the 26th of July, G for Budapest on the 9th of August and we leave Sofia on the 1st of September, with maybe a one- or two-day stopover in Vienna.

It's gorgeous outside. I think I'll go buy some bagels.
Five countries in six weeks is much more reasonable than eight countries, don't you think? The way I figure it, the Baltic countries are already sort of expensive (compared to other destinations in the region) and they'll most likely stay that way, so there won't be any nasty surprises when I eventually visit. I really want to see Ireland and the U.K. as well, but they're already hideously costly, so I might as well go to other, cheaper places now and save the pricier countries for a little later, when I hopefully have more money.
