How to feel a sense of accomplishment:
Oct. 5th, 2004 10:11 pmMake an underachieving to-do list, one you can't not keep up with. It feels so good!
All right, this cleaning spree has led me to the obvious conclusion that I have too many notebooks -- I had to force myself to select a few to get rid of! Now if you ever see me trying to buy another notebook, tackle me or something. Unless, of course, it's a really, really cute one. The problem, of course, is that I hardly write by hand at all anymore, aside from travel journals, and that's only one or two notebooks a year. I suppose that if I leave one lying around on my coffee table (which, incidentally, has never supported a cup of coffee) I might occasionally write something...
Another conclusion I've come to, not so obvious: I don't have as much stuff as I thought I did! Well yes, my apartment's full of things, but when I say "stuff" I mean papers, random small objects and anything I'm not quite sure what to do with right now but don't really feel like getting rid of just yet. I'm down to very little of that, actually; the things that take up most of the space are books, CDs, videos/DVDs, clothes, etc. Oh yeah, and I have a bunch of stuffed animals because G keeps giving me more! Sure, they're mostly small, but they add up! ;D
So now I have a load to stuff I don't want or need anymore. I could give it to St-Vincent-de-Paul, or wait until spring and have a garage sale, or try to find someone who wants a box full of rocks, mineral specimens and shells.
