Nov. 27th, 2004

This is it, the moment of truth, the home stretch. The day of reckoning is at hand. Almost.

I have 15, 291 words left to write and I'd like to finish it before Monday. Monday evening at the latest, because I've decided that G and I are going out on Tuesday to celebrate my amazing feat.

I really am amazed at myself, for having stuck to it. Sure, I ditched the daily wordcount early on, but I've managed to hang in there and I'm not planning on giving up this late in the month. The best part is my story is coming together and heading to a conclusion. Not the one I was planning, though it's more a question of the timeline than of what happens. And I managed to create decent characters! Sure, I only have two main characters and two supporting ones that are of any consequence (three if you count one who has hardly said anything yet) but they have distinct personalities and they're not me.

Maybe in a little while I'll go back and edit and get a couple of short stories out of it.
Drinking fresh-squeezed orange juice is like downing liquid sunshine, a most welcome prospect on a such a grey day.

Fewer than 13,000 words to write now, and G's coming over with food for supper. I should get my laundry done, though, and some cleaning.

I don't know about you, but this doesn't sound like Billie Holiday to me.
