At midnight, I was thinking that it was kind of pathetic, not being able to think of anything to do and all. So I went to bed and now am I ever glad I did! I slept until ten and now I feel like I can conquer to world!

Also, I had a very interesting dream. In the first part my parents were moving, I think, so they'd decided to have a garage sale and get rid of lots of stuff. Only they didn't feel like lugging everything outside, so they'd just arranged things neatly in the house with little signs. I told her she should carefully cover up whatever wasn't for sale, "Because I just know someone's going to walk away with our winter coats." Then we were all in the dining room, along with a few of my friends, and I was trying to take pictures with my father's camera. After a few shots I realised that I hadn't set it to auto, so I had to start all over again.

The next part of the dream was very complicated. I was with a slew of people, including my brother and his girlfriend and some of the girls to whom I teach ballet. We were in the lobby of some sort of building, perhaps a school, but it was the entrance to the Underworld! Okay, not really. But it was the entrance to a multi-level labyrinth filled with creatures of questionable intent and people of questionable allegiance and we had to find the heart of the labyrinth and use the appropriate items to -- to do something. How RPG of me! And I don't even play RPGs.

The way my dream was set up, it was as though I'd dreamt of this several times before, each time getting a little further into the building. This time, I knew I had to make it all the way through. So off we went, down the first flight of stairs. The lighting was already conveniently creepy, and we found ourselves in a corridor. At one end was a doorway where a green chain, leading into the darkness beyond, was bolted to the wall; at the other, a cell with bars at the entrance. We couldn't see what was inside, but we knew it wasn't nice.

At that moment it suddenly hit me that I was leading a bunch of 12-year-old girls into that place, so I led them back out and told them to wait for their parents. When I headed back down, to catch up with the rest of the group, I was being followed by a guy dressed in a tight red outfit that reminded me of an insect. I didn't think he wanted to hurt me, but I hurried to catch up to the others all the same.

On my way, I passed the bloody remains of several creatures and was glad that I'd taken the girls out of there. And if it had saved me some fighting, that was the price to pay, eh? The labyrinth turned out to be rather shorter than I'd expected and I soon reached the heart of it, an enormous underground cavern. Shafts of sunlight illuminated a few places on the floor, which was smooth stone. In the centre of the room, a crude stone pillar rose to the ceiling and one of my companions was crouching at its base, trying to set up the necessary items in the right order. I ran over to help.

Suddenly we were outside, all sitting on top of a rocky outcropping. A single spiral of rock rose behind us; perched on it was what looked like a bird with the head of a lizard on the end of a long, snaky neck. A woman was explaining that we needed a certain number of each item and we had to set them up in a certain order. If we didn't, we'd have to allow the bird to poke our eyes out. The items were in a heap at my feet and in a large black sports bag, so I got to it. There had to be four sponges, among other things, and at least fifty Clinique products. Luckily, the bag was full of Clinique makeup and whatnot, so I felt confident the bird wouldn't get our eyes on account of a paucity of beauty products.

Then I woke up.

Today I sew. I'd like to go to the gym, but my knee hurts so I'm not sure it's such a good idea -- I wasn't too gentle to my legs in dance class this week. I'll at least go for a walk, the weather's so mild.
