Lately, I've for some reason gotten into the habit of reading about weddings and wedding-related stuff on the internet. A reaction to my own wedding perhaps? At any rate, the result of this is that I find it harder and harder to believe how much money some people spend on it. Not that I have anything against big receptions, if that's your thing, it's just that I can't fathom doing anything of the sort myself. We invited 18 guests (and one couldn't make it) and it seemed like plenty to me!

Another thing is that when a fellow dancer was showing pictures of her wedding last winter (in the Carribean, white sand beaches, clear blue water, etc.), it struck me, looking at her pristine white gown, that white would have been the last colour I'd have worn. I wore blue, so it's a moot point now, but I think I would have chosen yellow, even orange, over white.

On an unrelated note, you know how there are things you see in stores, that you've never bought or tried, that you think must be interesting? Well, the other day I finally caved in and bought a dollar twenty-five worth of sponge taffee, which is basically a brick-sized piece of what you find under the chocolate of a Crunchie bar. I like Crunchie bars, or at least once in a while like around Halloween, when they come in small doses, so I figured that a loaf of the stuff might be neat. It was certainly sweet, and sticky, satisfying this craving for sweet things I've been having for the past few weeks. So the first day I had roughly a quarter of it, another quarter yesterday and today when I got back from school, I was figuring I'd make at least a dent in what was left. After a couple of bites, however, it started tasting... soapy. I have no idea if it was the candy or if when I'd washed my hands and wiped at my mouth, some soap had been left over. At any rate, it turned me off the idea of sponge taffee for a while and I threw the rest of it out.

This is my last night sleeping alone, as G comes back from Chicago tomorrow to regale me with tales of Bill Clinton, business cards and industry receptions.
