Apr. 25th, 2006 04:41 pmI played hookie stayed home from school today out of spite against my ex-wisdom teeth. I don't know if it's getting worse, but it's bothering me more, now; whenever the weather is heavy and grey and possibly rainy, the scar tissue in my lower jaw (the dentist didn't need to cut anything for the top ones, as they had fully come out) swells and aches. Ibuprofen helps most of the time but I usually feel bad anyway, in which case motivation tends to dip. And then, I tell myself that it's not as though I'm getting paid and besides, I have no trouble catching up even after a week away, so why not stay home? Dangerous thinking, that.
On the other hand, I at least was productive today. One set of ballet costumes is cut and now just needs to be edged and ribbon and elastic added. On top of that, I finally got around to mending the four tank tops that have been sitting in my closet for over a year. It took me all of half an hour for those, probably less, but it usually seems like so much trouble to change the thread in the machine for 30 seconds of use.
Also, in the past couple of days, after having forsaken my sewing machine for a good three months, I finished (I'm on a roll here, somebody, stop me!) the curtains I'd promised M-P last summer, and my brother's birthday present. Not the brother who's birthday is in May, the one who's birthday was in February. Ahem. But I got him something else at the time, so it's all good.
