Sore eyes!
Nov. 2nd, 2006 11:40 pmI've gone and done it: though I know absolutely nothing about quilting, I've started making blocks for a quilt! Dive in and figure it out as you go along, that's what I always say. At least I can feel virtuous about using up scraps of fabric; even if my efforts come to naught, I'll at least have tried. Let's hope I actually get somewhere with this one and am pleased enough with the result that I'll get around to using the brocade blocks I sewed together while watching the Olympics last winter.
In other news, G and I finally set the printer up this evening. The printer that I'd never taken out of the box, the printer I got along with my computer, the computer I got over a year ago. Shut up. It's a scanner/printer, too, so I'll be able to play around with that, as well as with printing out my favourite travel photos, which will force me to actually scan the damn slides, then decide which are the best photos, or at least which are the best to hang up on the still-bare walls of our home.
This song I'm listening to? The chorus goes "So rise, rise and shine" but listening to it distractedly the first couple of times, I kept hearing "Sore eyes" and wondering why the hell Poe was singing about having sore eyes, especially since it had nothing to do with the rest of the song.
