There and back again
Aug. 25th, 2007 11:27 amSo I'm back in Canada, back in the place I grew up, sitting in the basement of my parents' house. How weird is that?! I ran some errands with my mother this morning and it struck me as somehow hilarious to be strolling through the aisles at Zeller's and Super C with my trendy Tokyo clothes and purse and accessories. I'll have to write more about this feeling of disconnection once I've gotten my bearings a bit more.
The flight back was smooth, except for the fact that Chicago O'Hare is apparently the most stupidly-designed airport ever, on top of being inefficient. Good thing my flight landed there nearly an hour early, otherwise I would have missed my connection to Ottawa. Also, I slept surprisingly little, though the Tokyo-Chicago leg was over ten hours, which ended up in me being basically awake for 24 hours. Not a bad thing, I suppose, since I slept all night and woke up bright and bushy-tailed this morning.
It's a nice 24 degrees here, and isn't it crazy that it feels COOL to me? And I'm not sweating buckets! Amazing.
It's not quite lunchtime yet, buy I think I'm going to have a look at last night's leftovers, I wasn't hungry enough to eat much yesterday.
