Usually, I pride myself on being a good multi-tasker, but y'a des limites! After promising myself I'd get a Travelpod post up tonight, I started editing pictures (I promise lots of pretty!), then discovered LibraryThing (why had I never heard of this before?!) and started listing books, then the figure skating gala I'm sort of watching on tv suddenly produced Ando Miki in leather hot pants, skating around to sultry music... *sound of concentration frying* Hello, legs!
Speaking of figure skating, I was watching a show a few weeks ago, in which the lady host goes to lunch with two female celebrities, and they indulge in girl talk. One of the guests was Arakawa Shizuka, who you may remember won gold at the last Olympics. They were talking about Ms. Arakawa's experiences competing around the world, and the host said something like, "You're so lucky you got to meet all those handsome foreign male figure skaters!"
"Yes," Ms. Arakawa replied a bit sadly, "but unfortunately, most of them don't really like women."
"Whaaaat?" The host and the other guest looked confused.
"I mean, they prefer other men!" she hastily clarified.
Ugh, now it's Sasha Cohen skating to a [breathy-voiced female singer] version of "Imagine". I'm sorry, I just don't like her -- something about her face screams "Bitch!" to me. Anyway, she seems to have grown cleavage since the last time I saw her skate, when she was pretty flat. Interesting.
ETA: So you're skating to Christina Aguilera, but that's no excuse to wear a FURRY PINK HALTER TOP, Arakawa-san!!! O_O; Though I must say, with a top like that, no one will even notice the skirt made entirely of pink ribbons hanging from a belt.
Still, damn can she skate.
