Mar. 18th, 2008 11:04 amYesterday I finally got back to sorting through the clothes I left back at the other apartment, which I really should have done long ago, in order to get rid of as much stuff as possible. Not that I'll be paying shipping costs back to Canada, of course, it's just that I don't want to be saddled with useless junk once I do make my way back. I did a first run, slash-and-burn style, and I'll be going through for a second culling today, as well as cutting up the t-shirts and tank tops I haven't worn in ages but kept because of the logos or designs on them. A quilt, perhaps, someday... At any rate, a small square of fabric is easier to store than a whole top.
One thing that struck me is that those plain Club Monaco t-shirts are virtually indestructible, or at least the ones from a few years ago are (the last ones I bought were a finer knit; while softer, they tend to pill and loose their shape). I still have a couple that I bought in 2001 and wore the hell out of before demoting them to work-out clothes and now to sleepwear. The colour is still great, and the only reason one is not wearable in public anymore is because it once got caught around the centre spin-thingy in the washing machine and the neck was stretched out to twice its former size.
