Busy Yaourt Girl is busy
Aug. 4th, 2008 08:34 amWhat a hot, sweaty, fun weekend! Fireworks on Saturday (and I may just post a picture or two when I'm done sifting through them - I've already culled the initial batch from 450 down to fewer than 300, so it's a start!) and picnic yesterday (of which I'll also post pictures for you folks who were there, if I have a moment this evening).
I'm on vacation, now, so the obvious thing to do is to get up early and go to Costco! :D Actually, no, it's that a friend invited me along, promising something about "enough laundry detergent in a single container to last you two years!" and that's reason enough, wouldn't you say? I was planning on walking to the station, but 30 minutes in this heat... It's not that the bus is faster (the ride itself is 15 to 20 minutes, and it's 10 minutes between buses, so it sometimes takes just as long), but it means I won't be completely drenched in sweat before I even get anywhere. Though maybe that's a moot point now, since I showered not half an hour ago and my t-shirt is already soaked through. >_<;;;;
Another annoyance is that I managed to do something to my ankle yesterday; surprisingly, not at any point during the stretching, flipping and cartwheeling session. One side of it is slightly swollen, and I can't bend it in some directions, so I'm hoping I'll land on it wrong and it'll snap back into place. At least, that's what's happened every other time so far, including that time on Santorini when the "snapping back" bit was accompanied by so much excrutiating pain that I still don't understand why I didn't pass out, given that it was about 40 degrees, the sun was beating down, and I was stumbling over volcanic rock.
