They now have Fanta "furufuru she--ka--" in lemon flavour! :D~

*glugglugglug*

And KitKat in koujicha flavour, though it tastes more like coffee to me.

And I have a tv that works! Not that it didn't work before, it was the cable hook-up in my apartment that was wonky. First of all, the basic cord that came with my tv wasn't enough, because the wall plug was one with screws that needed a prong-like adapter. So I got myself one of those, hooked it up, and found that every channel had snow and bad sound. I went to speak to the landlady, and after some back-and-forthing of "Are you sure you hooked it up right? Can't you get the store to hook it up for you?" and "I followed the instructions, and I went back to the store to ask, and they said it should be fine, and the tv is brand new..." she came over to take a look. We fiddled around with it for a while, and found, to our consternation, that the reception was actually better when we just held the end of the cord up to the plug, instead of actually hooking it up. Yeah. So the landlady sent an electrician over yesterday, and it took him under five minutes to change the weird screw-plug to a normal one.

Still, out of eleven channels, why are two of them different home shopping channels?
My co-workers managed to totally pull one over me and surprised me with a little birthday celebration at school today. The reason I suspected nothing, though since I've started working there we've celebrated the birthdays of two other teachers, the assistant and the director the same way, is because when we went out last week for an end-of-summer, end-of-summer-school dinner, they plied me with cake*, so I didn't expect anything more. Anyway, K came and asked me if I had a minute to talk about the training I'm going to be doing this weekend. I sort of wondered why she wanted to talk to me about it in the middle of the day, when she's got a class of nine 2-year-olds, but whatever. She went over the program with me, and when we made it back down a few minutes later, there were all the kids with the cards they'd made me, and I was truly surprised and touched.

The kids, of course, were all excited and jumping on me to point out, "I drew this one!" "Look at mine!" "Look! I wrote this!" After they sang me the requisite song, I asked them if I could get birthday hugs from everyone; I ended up kneeling on the floor with kids all over me. Mai kept coming back for more hugs; Haruka wouldn't let go of my leg; Leon was running around the room laughing his head off, stopping occasionally to pat my arm; and Hyo stood beside me, one hand casually grabbing my breast as he grinned up at me. *rofl*

"Hyo, why are you groping my breast?" I asked him, laughing. He just laughed along with me, not knowing what I was talking about. He actually did it to me last week, too: he was reaching up for my to pick him up or something, and both his hands landed right on my chest. He squeezed a bit, and I could just see the thoughts running through his mind: "Hmm, squishy!" *squeezesqueeze* XD To a 4-year-old, I guess they might seem large, and they're larger than his mother's, at any rate. Honestly, I'm surprised that none of the other kids have ever done this, accidentally or otherwise.

* There we were in the restaurant after our meal, planning Hallowe'en (more on that later! :D), when suddenly the lights in our corner grew dim. I was all, "What? Is the power going out?!" -- and there was a fair amount of lightning, so it wasn't that farfetched -- until I saw the waitress coming over with the birthday cake.
It hit me today that for someone who claims sewing as one of her principal hobbies, who has a whole ROOM in her apartment full of sewing stuff, I have done blessed little of it this year. BUT! I finished something!

Remember a couple of weeks ago, when I said that I had this crazy idea that I'd be able to start and finish a dress in a single morning? I did it. Two and a half hours, and I had a dress fit to go out in. Sure, the finishing job was rushed and lousy, and I had to take my scissors along with me to snip at dangling threads (and dupioni frays like a bitch, really!), and I had originally planned to have a blue band along the hem as well, but here it is: I should totally be Canada's Next Top Model! Call me, Tricia! )

In other sewing news, I've been elected Costume Designer for our school's Hallowe'en party, because the staff will be... the Disney princesses! XD I'm going to be Aurora (a.k.a. Sleeping Beauty) in pink* rather than blue, because I have a bunch of bright pink silk that I can't imagine any other use for. We're going to have an Ariel, a Belle, a Jasmine, a Snow White, and... Pocahontas. The logical sixth would have been Cinderella, of course, but no one wanted to be her, for some reason, and the other option was Mulan. Talking it over, we were wondering if any of the kids would recognise Pocahontas, and we thought they probably wouldn't, because Pocahontas is not one of the heavily-marketed Disney movies, here.

Now I have to go rustle up some reference images to think of how I'm going to go about this. Snow White will be fairly simple, I know how to go about making Jasmine's outfit, Pocahontas won't be too tough either, and Ariel (that will be K) has already designed the costume in her mind. The most elaborate ones will be Belle, who requires an actual gown, and my own dress. Because it's mine, and if I'm to be a princess, I'm going to be as princessy as I can be! And I get to wear a tiara! :DDD

Japan, you kill me: a tv add for sanitary napkins with a bunch of ballet dancers prancing through a forest. XD

* I know that the marketing team usually has her in pink, I guess because Cinderella is already in blue, but Aurora spends most of the movie in blue, so in my mind, that's her colour. I always liked her better than Cinderella, anyway.

ETA: The shadows because of the flash make my legs look bumpy, somehow. :(
