Yesterday evening, K texted me saying she had a fever and was experiencing chills. She came to work today, though she still felt poorly. A bit before noon, I was suddenly struck by a wave of diziness and had to lean over and put my head in my hands (my kids, ever sympathetic, began exclaiming "Ms. Adele is sleepy! Ms. Adele is sleepy! :D"). An hour later, K, who'd taken a turn for the worse, and I, now boasting a headache to go with the diziness, were both lying on the floor in the baby room, taking turns with the thermometer. I was feeling very warm, but...

Me: This thing is telling me 35.4!*
K: That seems a bit low... Let me try.
Me: I thought 37 was supposed to be the standard body temperature.
K: It says 37.8 for me! D:
Me: What the hell, why is my temperature so low?!
K: Maybe you're part vampire? (She recently finished reading the Twilight series)
Me: Yeah, tell me if my skin starts to sparkle...
*both pass out*

We're going on the theory that we picked up something at E's place, since no one else at school is sick in any way. I'm sincerely sorry if I infected anyone at yesterday's picnic, but if it eases your mind any, K went to see a doctor this afternoon (we both left early) and he said it wasn't the flu, just a cold. Her case is much worse than mine so far, and I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse than the feeling of listlesness and exhaustion that's had me feeling zombie-like most of the day.

* I tried again later, and it didn't go past 35.6. I'll have to remember to take my temperature on a day I'm not sick, to see if that's normal for me, because I have no idea what my usual temperature is, and can't even remember the last time it was taken.
