Rushing around
Aug. 12th, 2009 12:12 amI've been so busy that while I've been reading my flist, I haven't commented much (or at all?), so a quick update to let you know I'm still alive (I'll write more later, this is just a brief summary).
Thursday I had three consecutive dates. I met J for lunch, then C for coffee, then ASK for supper. I spent the whole day talking and catching up, so my jaw was a little tired by the end of it. XD;;;
Friday I helped the bride with last-minute details, including going to a party supply store to pick up extra balloons and such. I got to play the role of the somewhat cynical, level-headed best friend while she squealed about "Look! These streamers have little hearts! OMG THESE BALLOONS HAVE FLOWERS ON THEM! 8D"
Most importantly, I got to meet her man for the first time, and I can rest easy knowing that she's picked a good one. They're going to visit me next year in Tokyo, and he and I have already planned a sake-tasting tour. XD
Saturday started much too early and I spent the whole day with my hair full of gel and spray and a face caked with makeup. I'll post pictures, I promise, because I'll bet you've all been wondering what I'd look like with fake eyelashes, eh? (Answer: not like myself, but kinda hot! XDDD)
The wedding itself was lovely and a lot of fun, and while I did tear up a bit, I managed not to cry during any of the more touching moments. At least until I had my arms full of blushing bride telling me she loved me and how much it meant to her that I'd come so far to be with her that day. <3
Sunday I left town with M-P and P to visit their place in Waterloo. We stopped at Pacific Mall on the way, because it's against my personal code to go anywhere near Toronto and not go to Pacific Mall. We emerged with shoes and earrings. Lots of them. Stay tuned for a picture of my new Fantabulous Shoes, because they are fantabulous. :D
Yesterday I headed back to Toronto to crash at B2's place, and he took me out to meet some of his friends in the evening, which was fun.
Today I got a ride-share and was back in Ottawa by mid-afternoon, at which point I went to my mum's work to see a former coworker of mine (the most adorable lady in the whole world). Then we came home and I rushed out again to pick up Bashy Boy and Tango Chick at the train station, because they made an express trip from Montreal just to see me -- they're leaving tomorrow morning at 6.
That's all for now, gotta get to bed. Only 3 more days left in Canada... ;___;
ETA: I forgot to mention that yesterday was my 3-year Japanniversary, and the second that I've marked while out of Japan itself.
