Tomorrow's theme will be "Christmas at Home Away From Home", I think. Bring your fuzzy socks and comfy sweaters! Of course, you can also dress up, if you'd rather do that. I was originally going to suggest a Dressy Christmas, but then I remembered that I have no dressy clothes, or at least none that are seasonally appropriate. Boo.

Today, an oven was purchased, an oven large enough to accomodate Georges Dindon. And for my next trick, I will make a roasting pan! What, didn't you know? I'm Martha Stewart in my spare time.

Actually, my next trick is to make sponge cake for the trifle. It's come to light that my mother was making fake sponge cake all these years. *gasps of shock and horror* She assures me this recipe is even more delicious. We shall see! After that, I have roughly 50kg of strawberries to hull*, an apartment to clean, and other stuff to do. Busy, busy!

I spent the day helping K move into her new place. Or, rather, I helped rip open boxes and put stuff wherever there was room. As I told her (and I do believe this, honestly!), it's better to have someone else do the initial unpacking. I know that when I unpack in a new place, it takes me three times as long as it could, because I want to put everything in its proper place, but to do that I have to unpack this other thing first, and then the shelves aren't set up, and where is that box?! At any rate, I we unpacked 41 or 42 of her 50 boxes in about 5 hours, so I say it was a major success!

The two packages my mother sent me over a month ago still haven't turned up... The Canada Post website lists them as going through customs in the destination country, but they've been there for a while! Hmph. I really, really, really hope they arrive tomorrow, just so I can throw open the door and exclaim, "Konnichiwa, Santa-sa~~~~~n!" at the poor postal worker. Any people present at such a time are encouraged to join in. :D At least I have a few presents and cards from friends under the tree, so it doesn't look too ronery. *pets tree*

Being on vacation is such an incredible feeling! A weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I'm going to fully enjoy every second of my break. *deep sigh of satisfaction* Today was a great first day off, now let's all enjoying winter holidays together! ^o^

* I couldn't think of anything but the French "équeuter", to cut the stem from, but according to at least one online dictionary, in English, one hulls strawberries. What would I do without the intarwebs?! ^_^ Actually, now that I think about it, I have a vague memory of having known this fact at one point... *old brain is going foggy*
