And much listiness ensued
My silence is over; now I have a reason to guilt myslf into posting. Because while A-L was here, I felt I had better things to do. Like spend quality time with her, playing Diner Dash and watching Moonlight and listening to her explain the most recent developments on Y&R, teaching her to knit, shopping all around Tokyo (and boy, did we SHOP!), etc, etc.
Her being here was my ultimate "Why I'm Not Even Attempting NaNoWriMo This Year" get-out-of-jail-free card. However, I've been inspired by my lovely pretend cousin, who's been doing a post a day -- and entertaining posts they were, too, but then, they always are -- for the past month. So I thought I'd do a post a day for all of December, but instead of writing about just any old thing (though I will be doing that, when the mood strikes), I'll be posting a review a day, because it's nearly year's end and I've fallen woefully behind on my resolution. And to make things a little more challenging, I'll try to write insightful, in-depth reviews of more than a paragraph, except when I really have nothing to say, and then I guess I'll review two or three things a day. Which will help me get it all done before the 31st of December because I a) don't want to fall short of my resolution for the year and b) as of today, I have, in my To Review list:
- 12 books (+4 if I count the ones I'm currently reading and will soon finish, and more by the end of December, no doubt)
- 11 tv series (+2, if I count seperate seasons of the same show, +3 if I count the ones I'm in the middle of and will most likely finish before the end of December)
- 11 movies to review (+1 if I count the one that I watched last year but read the book on which it was based this year and so would like to compare them, and -1 if I don't count the one that's a sequel to one of the tv series) to review.
O_O *falls over*
And since I'm all about setting goals for myself today, how about tagging all my entries, all the way back to 2002? Oh yeah, and there's that Travelpod thingy that I haven't touched since July... Oof. I should AT LEAST write about Nikko, Kawagoe and Okinawa, shouldn't I? Three entries in a month, that's not so bad. Four, if my plan comes to fruition and I get to be walking through Japanese snow for Christmas. And then there would be a list of my sewing and knitting projects completed this year. Some of which need to be completed soon, if I'm to get them to the post office in time for them to reach Canada before Christmas!
While I'm on the subject, I thought I'd give myself an excuse to use up all the pretty craft paper I have and make Christmas cards. If anyone would like to receive one, you can leave your address in the comments or send it to me : bloodygoldy AT hotmail DOT com.
All this, because what is more satisfying than a miles-long To Do list?
A miles-long To Do list with items crossed out, that's what! ^_^;
In other news, there's been nary a peep from the roaches for at least two weeks. Either A-L scared them off, the cold* got to them, or my kicking the last one out the door instead of squashing it gained me sufficient karma points for a reprieve.
And now, lunch.
* This being Tokyo, cold is not COLD but chilly, but chilly enough to turn the heat on for a while a few evenings.
