I still haven't finished Ink, so Vellum will have to wait another week.
In the meantime,
The Tudors (season 1)
This is a show that I did not burn to DVD for later re-watching, and was a perfect thing to put on while hand-sewing, because I really didn't need to be watching the screen all that much. Basically, it's people plotting, conspiring, and occasionally having sex. Which is a shame, because it's really a fascinating period of history, and I wish I'd been more drawn into it. It got stronger as it went along, but it's still unsatisfactory. Even the costumes didn't hold my interest for very long, except for the fantasitc headpieces Anne Boleyn shows up wearing in all the court scenes.
To be totally honest, I wasn't expecting much from this show for the simple fact that Jonathan Rhys Meyers is too skinny to be a convincing Henry VIII. ^_^ Not only that, but I found him to not be quite up to the part, overacting it at times, though on the whole, he did better than I thought he would.
Cardinal Wolsey and Queen Catherine, on the other hand, were very, very good. It's too bad that Sam Neill will forever be to me "the guy who was in Jurassic Park." XD
Now I'm considering downloading the second and third seasons, if only to have something on in the background while I finish my massive curtain project.
Final verdict: 6/10
In other news...
Dream Live 6th in Tokyo the weekend my brother is here!
EEEEEEEEEeeeeeeee! :D
