O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
Dec. 15th, 2002 08:03 amThe Christmas tree is up, and though it seems quite a bit punier than last year's, I console myself with the thought that beside last year's tree(s), which was a forest unto itself, anything would look puny, so hah! We even indulged Tristan and allowed him to hang all the nutcracker ornaments together in what he called formation, what I called clump. Let's see how long it takes for one of us to cave in and move them.
Out at Doug's place in Almonte, we were treated to total silence, quiet so all-encompassing that the only thing we could hear was the occasional bird, and snow landing on the last beech leaves.
Tonight, it's over to G's to help him with his mini-tree. My mother kindly lent him the old decorations we don't want (styrofoam apples, anyone?), but since he's afraid the cats will make a grabuge out of it, I guess uglier is the way to go.
Now, to start wrapping presents!
