Unplanned

Well, our brilliant plan to see Knossos today and catch a ferry out to Santorini was marred by the fact that the only ferries to Thira leave Tuesdays and Fridays at 8pm. Seems the Flying Dolphins aren't quite on their fins yet and only start running next week. Oh well, that'll give us the chance to see another Cretan town instead of another island. It'll be interesting anyway.

Last night we had supper at a nice taverna where we got A-L and M-P to drink wine! And ouzo! Though A-L said she only had some because the waiter (an older man who looked like a typical local, very nice) told G he was lucky to be with three such beautiful women. *laugh* We're going back there tonight, the food was good.

Today we went to Knossos, a surprisingly easy thing, contrary to what I'd heard about Greek buses (there were signs and everything at the bus station!). The site is pretty large when you consider that it's one whole palace/temple/living complex; all that's left are walls and the reconstructions of some columns and rooms. The sun was atrocious so we took our time, resting under the pine trees between seeing sections of the palace. There were many tourists there, but not quite so many as on the Acropolis. Again, lots of tour groups.

The air here just screams "Take a nap!", so that's what we did when we got back. G and I overslept our meeting time with the girls. Oops! Now we're off to eat, once I pry G away from his computer game.

Sigh...can I come in your suitcase next time you go away? I read about all your travelling and I wonder when you work :) I am sure you do cuz you pay for all these trips (mind you, you seem to be smart with your money too.). Sounds like you are having fun. Hope the rest of your trip is pleasently eventful :)

That it is! We also had something that's not quite ouzo (I think the name of it starts with "r") that was nice.

Sure, come along! ;) Don't worry, I work, it's just that I'm still living with my parents, which makes saving money for stuff like this easier.
