It's raining exhaustion, hallelujah!
Jun. 13th, 2004 10:17 pmIn the middle of washing my dishes, I discovered that the edge of my counter was teeming with ants. Now I'm not sure if my orange-scented cleaning product is bad for them or if I just drowned them (I doused them little bastards good!), but I sprayed all along the back of my cupboards for good measure and my mother promised me ant-killing something or other for tomorrow. On the bright side, kneeling inside my cupboards led to the discovery of a wooden spoon wedged right up underneath the counter-top. I can't remember buying it, but something tells me that the previous tenant would never have left a spoon that clean. Also, I can't believe I moved into my own place without a wooden spoon. I must have misplaced it soon after moving in, for it doesn't looks used at all and I remember thinking a few times that a wooden spoon might be a useful thing to have.
Today was my first real day of summer -- I mean, I actually spent time outside! In the sun! I even went swimming! These past few weeks I've been cooped up inside on weekends, pretty much all because of dance-related activities and it feels positively glorious for that to be over and done with. Now I can put all those sewing-for-myself ideas that have been germinating in my mind to the test.
