Yesterday afternoon I was at Bayshore with A-L, blowing money on shoes (so help me god, I think I'm beginning to understand the appeal of shoes, which is a scary thing) when we walked into Aldo and guess what music was playing?

"Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma nu ma iei!" Aw, my Romanian boys followed me! *beams and bounces around*

Today was my first day back at work, though I didn't do any of the work I expected to. To begin with, my mother, as coordinator, had a list of incoming students, which she only got Friday, I think. That isn't so unusual, because the Department is notorious (as is the gov't) for getting things done at the last minute. They outdid themselves this year, though; we had the names, but only a handful of them had their level indicated on the list. So how was my mother supposed to plan groups if we didn't know who couldn't say "Bonjour" and who could talk about their career plans in detail? Obviously we couldn't start them off in the classroom today, so the other teachers and I conducted mini-interviews all morning to determine which level the students should be starting at. Tomorrow, the real work begins.

What??

What are you talking about? I was never big on shoes. Sandals, maybe, but I didn't seriously start admiring shoes until recently, I mean, appreciating the cut and quality and all that. It's not the same as thinking "Oh, those shoes look cool.", it's much worse than that!
