Dec. 24th, 2004 03:16 pmTwo hours (probably a bit more) before my family arrives. I have to:
- Wash the dishes and clear the counter
- Start the broth for the fondue and make the sauces
- Cut the veggies
- Clear the coffee table upon which I shall arrange a delightful display of candles and snacks
- Clear my desk and around my desk (that is, pile stuff Elsewhere)
- Put away all my clothes and changes my sheets and blankets
- Do my nails
- Take a nap?
- Wrap the last of the gifts
- Make mix CDs for my brothers
GAH! I just remembered I wanted to make a carousel of my travel slides for tonight but now I don't think I'll have time... Oh well, maybe.
My last-minute shopping today consisted of 130$ worth of alcohol. Downtown was crazy, though surprisingly civilized. The only trouble was when we were trying to get out of the LCBO parking lot, the street was jammed so G turned into the Leob lot and we got stuck behind a guy who was trying to park in an upward-sloping, icy spot and couldn't get in, so he was waiting around for another spot to free up. The employee who was trying to keep things flowing didn't seem to understand the concept of "We're trying to leave!" but we finally made it, only to have G notice he'd forgotten his tuque and gloves somewhere, probably the bank. He ran back but couldn't find them.
