They say that trying to sew plaid is a lesson in frustration, but I'm starting small, with a ginham-like motif.

Perhaps it would be best to impose a limit upon myself, such as a rule about having to make at least two things before buying any more fabric. I have too much as it is. Maybe losing auctions isn't such a bad thing, as it means I don't have to buy anything!

Living in a state of anticipation is detrimental to my productivity. I spend more time thinking of how I shall set up my sewing room once I move in with G than actually sewing, even though I'm all set up here. *sigh* But tonight I made an effort, so I'm pinned, cut and good to go. The sewing part shouldn't be too difficult, especially since I'm on my way to zipper mastery. *knocks on wood*

It's funny, isn't it? Used to be that a young lady was expected to know how to sew, or embroider or cross-stitch, etc. Now it's something that (a few) people do as a hobby, not as a necessity.

Are you still sewing?

Seriously! The fabric stores I've worked at had customers who'd say to me "Wha- YOU sew?? But, but you're so YOUNG! Congratulations! It's a rarity to see nowadays!"

The fact some people can't even sew on a button is quite sad if you ask me. =p

On & off sewing, mainly because my current machine's older than me, and prefers to make its own styles by eating the fabric and tearing it to bits: "shredded fashions!" =p I plan to get a newer machine so I can start making myself some snazzy digs once more and more often, since the crud out in stores now is too generic and "typical". I like being different. ;)
