I figured out why I couldn't find my previous posts, they had been dated April instead of May, for some reason. Livejournal thinks that France is a month behind Canada, not six hours ahead. Or did I travel back in time?

The Louvre museum, to be precise. It was closed, today, especially for me. I did get to see the outside, which is impressive enough, and means that I won't have to spend an hour exploring it when I do get around to seeing the inside.

I spent more time walking around, a bit on the Right Bank, this time, where there are lots of fancy little boutiques, and back on the Left Bank, where I visited the Cluny museum. It was quite interesting, and not too long a visit, with two floors, about 24 rooms between them. Lots of tapestries and statues of the Virgin and Child.

And in a room all to themselves, the "Dame a la Licorne" tapestries. Beautiful. Unlike some people who have no respect for history and the preservation of our heritage, I didn't touch them. Also, there were lots of security guards about. ^_^ I didn't buy anything in the gift shop, though it was tempting; time enough for that at the end of my trip.

Tomorrow, I leave on a 10:15 train and arrive at St-Malo a bit after 1. That is, as long as there isn't some horrible delay like there was for my plane.

I spent so much time walking today, a good deal of it because I got lost while trying to find a grocery store to buy myself supper. I thought I knew where I was going, but the thing with Paris is that you can't turn a corner and expect to be going at 90 degrees from your previous direction; not only do the street curve and cross each other at odd angles, they keep changing names, too! I finally found my hostel again, though, so everything's fine.

I'm hoping to get up early enough tomorrow to go visit the Pere Lachaise Cemetery before catching the train. It's only a few blocks away from the hostel, and it would be silly to miss it when I don't know where I'll be staying next time.

So now I have to go pack, rest my feet and figure out what my plans are for after tomorrow.

ohhh

On dirait l'automne.

Becs. Becs.

Mamasan.
