Say you worked for company A and you met someone who said, "I'm so happy! I just got a job with company B and I start next Monday." Now, you know for a fact, having spoken to several former employees of company B, that company B is headed by a loon who declared bankruptcy not three months ago (and not for the first time, either) and reopened his business under his wife's name a couple of weeks later, still owing thousands of dollars in unpayed wages to his former employees.
Would you say anything? I didn't want to burst her bubble, so I'll ask her how she's doing in two weeks or so. If she seems unhappy, I can always tell her about company A...
