(no subject)
Jan. 29th, 2004 05:42 pmWhy did I decide to play DDR just before going to bed? Don't know. So maybe trying Paranoia five times in a row wasn't the best way to relax before hitting the sack, but as it turned out, I had no trouble falling asleep.
This morning, one of my students was doing a presentation about the October crisis. He was in the middle of reading passages from the FLQ's manifesto and talking about the War Measures Act when all of a sudden, a student from the class next door burst into the room, intoned "O, Canada!" in a rather loud voice and ran off.
When we were done laughing, we still couldn't figure out what it had been about; I was wondering if maybe they thought we were being too noisy and had sent someone to bug us. One of my students asked if he should go over to the other room and shout "Vive le Québec libre!" in return. As it turns out, the other class was playing a game and the loser was supposed to go and sing O, Canada in front of our group, but he never got past the first two words. The subject matter was simply a funny coincidence.
