There's a girl who takes lessons at my studio who is about eleven, I believe, but she's big for her age; tall and slightly ungainly, a child's body made larger than most. I remember that when she started taking lessons, she suffered from an unfortunate lack of coordination, though my teacher said that the girl had found confidence in herself through dance and that she'd very much improved since starting. Now, four years later, she is still rather clumsy and compared to the others in her group, incredibly uncoordinated for a girl her age and she also keeps forgetting steps in her dances. But when she dances, she's always smiling and even though she may not have much natural grace -- or even a sense of rythm -- it's obvious dancing makes her happy.

Eat, sleep and sew, for tomorrow we dance.
