The other day, G brought some leftover mashed potatoes to work. In a ziploc. He didn't see the humour of if all.

I ended up staying in all day, yesterday. My food was ready but I was feeling much too lousy to go to a party and I even bowed out of a karaoke outing! *gasp* I felt bad, especially since it had been my suggestion to begin with. But today I went to the gym (exercise always makes me feel better) and got some groceries with G and spent some time with him and though it's already 3:30, I'm confident the rest of my day will be productive. I swear, the blouse will be done tonight and the skirt will be mostly done. Only I keep having these visions of gathered ruffles and linings dancing around my mind, so it might take longer than expected. >_<

You know, I'd love to have a time-card punch thingy to figure out how long my sewing projects actually take. The thing is, though, that I never do one thing at a time. I'll be in the middle of assembling a garment, then decide I have to change the music, then sit at the computer doing other stuff for 20 minutes, then go back to sewing for a bit, then fix myself a snack, etc. etc. So at the end of the day, all I know is that I'm still not done, and I seem to have done many pointless things.
It is done. Well, except for the buttons, but that can wait until I'm watching tv, or something. And I'm not completely happy with the sleeves, but I can add elastic to the cuffs later. Still, it's done! ^_^

And for my next trick, a skirt pattern shall appear out of thin air!

Besides causing me to feel the need to post updates every few minutes, sewing either gives me great concentration or ADD. Sometimes, I can happily spend an hour pinning and sewing without looking at the clock so that over an hour goes by like ten minutes; other times, such as just now, I'll be in the middle of cutting a piece and I'll put the scissors down, thinking, "Hmm, this would be a good time to take a look at that cute panda-print flannel remnant I bought that's totally unrelated to this project!" and waltz off, leaving the piece half-cut.

This evening I watched Desperate Housewives and it might just turn out to be a show I'd enjoy watching. It's soap-opera-ish without being cheesy (but it's got cheesecake), it's got entertaining characters who are quirky without being annoying (as "quirky" characters often are) and it just flows well.
