Mar. 20th, 2005 03:13 pmSave for the sleeves, M-P, your top is done, zipper and buttons and all. I wish I could show you a picture, as I'm so very proud of it. It looks good. When you come visit next weekend, I'll make sure the sleeves fit before sewing them on. Here's hoping it fits as nicely on you as it does on the hanger!
The silk-screening workshop I took part in last night was a lot of fun. Somehow, I thought it would be more complicated than that, but once you have the necessary material, it isn't all that difficult, and a hair dryer speeds things along nicely. I made two designs; one of them, larger and simpler, came out beautifully, though I have yet to master the art of finding the centre front of a t-shirt, it seems. The other one was smaller and more detailed and didn't work quite as well, but touching it up with a detail brush did the trick, and on the whole I'm rather pleased. I'll have to host some sort of silk-screening evening at my place sometime.
All this sewing and creative stuff has meant that I've hardly read at all, this month, especially compared to the number of books I devoured in January and February. It seems nigh impossible to balance the two, as when I do one I completely forget about the other.
