Dec. 19th, 2005 11:21 pmWe have a tree! A small tree, a bought tree, but a real tree. And it even has, oh wonder of wonders, a proper stand! Now let's see my father mock me for putting my tree in a bucket and tying it to the wall, when he spent my childhood, adolescence and early adulthood doing exactly that.
On the sewing front, things have not progressed as fast as I'd have liked. M-P was here over the weekend, so I suppose I have that excuse, but really, what excuse do I have? I finished hersecret skirt, which I can't wait to see her wear and A-L's top just need buttons. The stuffies have been stricken from the list because I was frustrated with the turtle pattern not matching up and I'd wasted enough time on it already. And while I was elbow-deep in dye-stained water, washing what is to be part of my wedding ensemble, it dawned on me that I have less than a week left to make all of this stuff, so I'd better get cracking.
I know that it would be best to get the easy stuff out of the first, just to be able to cross it off and concentrate on the other stuff, so I'm trying to do just that. Now that I've realized that my serger doesn't take kindly to silk/artificial silk brocade, I'm wondering how it'll fare when faced with organza. I am, after all, planning on making more than 20 organza gift bags.
