Dec. 14th, 2005 12:26 amThere I was, pleased as punch that ironing the polyester brocade on a steam setting was working so well, when I burned it. Oops. Of course, it had been working so well because I'd been ironing the wrong side, so nothing was melting. Oh well, I was able to salvage it without having to cut any new pieces. So A-L, if there's an odd-feeling patch inside the collar, I'm sorry. BUT! The rest of it will be lovely and sewn with great care, including the zipper. My mother was right, the only way to avoid frustration is to put zippers in by hand.
Speaking of zippers, my impulse purchase of 500 zippers for 20$ arrived today. I'll never have to buy another 7 inch zipper again as long as I live! Unless I start sewing in colours previously unknown to man. Octarine, perhaps?
