Me trying to explain colour theory (in the context of putting table runners on the dining room furniture) to G:
Me: See? It works!
G: No it doesn't! It doesn't match.
Me: But it's against wood, and wood is a neutral!
G: What are you talking about?
Me: Look, if we're talking about clothes, demin is neutral.
G: ...
Me: Meaning that you can wear any colour of shirt with a pair of jeans, right?
G: Except a demin shirt.
Me: Okay, fine. Anything except a demin shirt. So you could wear a green shirt, or a white shirt, or a pink shirt with a pair of jeans, right?
G: All right, yes.
Me: And you could wear a yellow shirt or an orange shirt, right?
G: No.
Me: ... Just because you wouldn't wear orange doesn't mean it doesn't match!!!
G: But it wouldn't match on me. Or someone with a really reddish skin.
Me: Fine! But on someone who could wear orange, it would work, all right?
G: ... okay, it would work.
Me: So wood is like demin, it's pretty much a neutral on its own. So this green, yellow and orange geometric print works! :D
G: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
