(no subject)

After much prodding, G answered "Pirate?" to my repeated queries of "What do you want to be for Halloween?" His much-loved (by him) samurai costume just won't get him noticed here. When I told him that he wasn't allowed to change his mind once I've gone shopping for fabric tomorrow, he still couldn't come up with anything other than pirate. Then he got a fightened look in his eyes when I started throwing big scary words at him like "Chemise, pantaloons, boots! Distressing! And don't shave!" he had the presence of mind to add "Jack Sparrow" to his request, I guess before I got carried away.

This actually works out better than I thought, because since I'm going to be doing Regency, he can be a Regency Jack Sparrow. I'm sure pirates didn't keep up with all the latest fashions anyway, so it's all good.

Of course, now I not only have a corset to finish, dessous and a dress to make, but a pirate costume to make from scratch. Unfortunately, my armoury of plastic swords includes only 3 katanas and one scimitar, though if I don't find a proper cutlass, scimitar it shall be.
