Bloh, bloh and more bloh!
Sep. 20th, 2007 02:21 pmI'm posting this from an internet cafe (and can't find the accents, because the settings tell me they're in Japanese but all the dialogue boxes come up in German and the Alt+whatever codes won't work) because I've been internetless at home for the past few days. I've been in communication about this with the property managers and it appears that the wireless router I connect to is in the apartment next door. It would be simple enough to go ask the tenant to check it, but she appears to have been away from home for at least 3 days. I'm going to call them again to see if anyone can go fix it. I'm going into withdrawal, damn it!
In other news, living in Japan is just full of new experiences. For instance, I'm now waiting while the heels on two pairs of shoes are being repaired. Because it seems that when you wear them enough, the plastic caps on cheap(ish) heels wear down, exposing the metal rod. Yeah, so it took me a while to figure out why my shoes were making metallic clicking sounds when I walked, but honestly, I've never worn heels enough before for that to happen to me!
Also in other news, that camera that I got, my lovely, lovely DSLR? I think I'm going to legally adopt it, I love it so much. The firm weight in my hand, the sexy lense, the satisfying ka-click of the shutter -- so much better than point-and-click!
