Aug. 22nd, 2008 11:06 pmI bought myself a toaster oven! Not bought, really, because I used my Yodobashi Camera points to get it for free, so it was like, "Let me displace my urge to buy yukata onto small kitchen appliances!" I'm very pleased with it, and my supper of melted camembert over roast beef on fresh toasted bread was umai.
So I haven't bought the yukata... yet. I distracted myself yesterday and today (toaster over!) with other errands after work, and tomorrow I'm heading in the complete opposite direction: I'm taking my friend K to Nippori to shop for fabric, because I'm going to teach her how to sew. Yay! :D
I'm rather ashamed that I've not sewn (and by sewn I mean finished) a single piece of clothing for myself this summer, unless you count turning a skirt into a top and sewing a dress I haven't worn yet because I'm undecided about the length. So last night I cut out the pieces for a peasant skirt (the idea was to make one to teach K how to, because that's what she wants to make as her first project) and got the thread through them for gathering. With a bit of willpower, I can finish it tomorrow in time to meet up with K, to inspire her. "You can do this too! :D" I'd have finished it tonight, but I can't watch SYTYCD while doing something else, and pinning gathers would have distracted me too much.
