Oct. 18th, 2008 10:42 amFor those of you interested in the laser hair removal I talked about, the clinic I go to is SBC, and they've got branches around Japan. Here's their price list for depilation:

When I was shopping around, all the other clinics I could find seemed to charge Y10,000 per session for underarms, but here it's only Y3000, and the rest of their prices are also lower. The 6 sessions in 2 years option is cheaper, if you plan on being in Japan that long, but remember that you have to wait at least 6 or 7 weeks between sessions. And if you check out their campaign page, it seems that students and those over 55 get 10% off. Because I'm sure you all qualify for the old age discount. XD
From what I understand, all the laser stuff in Tokyo is done at their Shinjuku office, a few minutes' walk north of the station. I'm not sure if any of the staff there speaks English (at least, no one has ever spoken English to me), but there is at least one person at the main office who does, to whom I had to resort when I set up my initial appointment over the phone. Because, amazingly, all my study of Japanese had not prepared me to understand and discuss the differences between SBC's three levels of bikini line depilation! At any rate, they were advertising in Metropolis, so they obviously wanted to get some foreign clientele. Not to worry, though, all the employees are super nice, and as long as you're able to say that it does or doesn't hurt, you'll be fine. ^_^
