Well, if it hasn't already been more than three weeks since I got back from Europe... Hard to believe it actually happened, when I think about it. Especially since I'm now starting to get into gear for my next trans-oceanic adventure!

My week in Vancouver was lots of fun, though I think that I must certainly have gained back any weight I might have lost in Europe, we ate so much. All-you-can-eat sushi is a wonderful, wonderful thing indeed.

First off, Punkie's grandparents kindly let us use their appartement, seeing as they're away for two months, so we had a place of our own without fear of bothering anyone. It was right next to a shopping centre and a Skytrain station, so that was nice. We needed only walk out the door and through the mall to get to the Skytrain.

Attended a wedding, visited with relatives, shopped, went swimming. Does it show I've gotten too lazy to write coherently? A few highlights, however.

I met Punkie's mother and sister, who are both very nice. We were treated to good meals and to the knowledge that there is apparently still a heated debate raging in the medical community over the exact location of the spleen. And here I thought the human body had been thoroughly mapped. Shows how much I know!

We stayed at my aunt's house until late in the morning, drinking wine with her, which afforded us the opportunity to see her very drunk, which was funny.

The next night, after having been out with Punkie's newly-married law-school buddy, I discovered that I am dating a loon. A transcript of the incriminating conversation will be posted as soon as I find my notes again.

After teasing my love about going to nude beaches, he actually took me to Wreck beach where we stripped and waded carefully (damn rocks) into the water, stood there shivering a bit, then climbed up onto a rock to dry in the warm afternoon sun. There was hardly anyone there, and we were the youngest and *ahem* best-looking people on the beach (as far as I could see). I think I know why it's not as crowded as you think it would be; the climb down to the beach is a killer, and my thighs suffered for it the next few days.

That's all I can think of for now, and I don't feel like explaining why we spent two hours on the runway in Toronto.

ahh Vancouver... une belle ville!
