Anniversaries of birth and other things

It's my mother's birthday today. Unfortunately, this day also marks the anniversary (two years, now!) of the day I figured out G was having an affair, precipitating the implosion of our marriage. Not that I don't think it would have imploded eventually anyway (though I was still hopeful at the time), but that day was the beginning of the three most miserable months of my life.

Dwelling on it isn't something I particularly want to do, but when I think about it now, I can't believe how far I've come, compared to the complete wreck I was this day two years ago.

Perhaps this day next year I'll be celebrating my divorce? Unless it comes sooner, of course, in which case I certainly won't complain. ^_^

Good for you for how far you have come. I think you have done a remarkable job and deserve a BIG pat on the back. You didn't deserve the hell but I think you know that!
