Sometimes there are no words

It's always nice to be reminded that I can be moved to tears by the beauty of nature. On the way home from the waterpark, K and I were treated to a gorgeous sky, clouds whipped up like mountains and castles on the horizon, burnished gold and gleaming. Then, as I rode my bike from the station, I looked up and before me was the most beautiful rainbow I'd ever seen, a complete arch of brilliant colours against the clouds. I was so choked up that it took me a minute to notice the second, fainter rainbow above the first.

These pictures were taken from behind my apartment building and aren't quite as dramatic as the view I had a few blocks away, but I didn't dare go any farther with my camera, for fear the rainbows would fade away before I could get a good shot.

Here, have a double rainbow:

And the other side of the sky...

That is awesome! The last picture has no rainbow, but it is nonetheless my favorite!

Thanks, I like that one too... ^_^

The sky just seemed so huge this evening!

Ahh, beautiful. ♥ We saw a rainbow from the train window on the way home tonight, too! Something about a rainbow against a grey sky is really amazing. ^__^

I think I've only seen a fully arched rainbow once "in person," and I don't remember ever seeing a double one before! Thanks for sharing the pictures, and I hope you guys had fun at the water park!

...where are you from that you have never seen a rainbow?! o.O

XD I mean, I've seen strips of rainbow in the sky, but not the kind that forms a complete arch and "touches" the horizon at both ends.

I once saw another double one, but it was actually two rainbows back to back, so it went from violet to red back to violet again!

Beautiful! And I just scrolled down to Shindou Gaku's journal post and he posted a pic of the rainbow as well. XD And I missed it while either sitting in Friday's or at HP6. Damn.

It was a bit before 7... and it seems it was visible all over Tokyo! Well, that or there were lots of different ones. ^_^
