So the stuffing smells wonderful, probably even better than I think it does; after cleaning the apartment (thus stirring up dust) and chopping up TWO onions (that's how much I love you people -- onions make me cry like nothing else!), my nose is pretty stuffed up and my sense of smell is taking a break.

Now to attempt a pie! :D

What a perfect time for my wrist to start acting up... :P

I can't wait to start cracking tomorrow! :D I love Thanksgiving like Kaji loves pie. And I probably love pie like Kaji loves pie. And Hannah loves Kaji like Kaji loves pie. I could go on.

I wanted to prepare all the dough tonight, but I just have enough ingredients for 2 crusts, so for my nashi pie and the pumpkin pie (neither of which require a top crust). I'll have to go get more butter tomorrow morning for the apple one, but I'll have it ready by the time you arrive. ^_^

Cool! I'm gonna make a run to your nearby grocery once I get there, anyway--and the pumpkin takes an hour and a half to stew before baking, so don't worry too much about getting everything ready by noon!

It's because the pâte brisée has to chill for an hour or so before use, so I might as well get it out of the way -- it's not like there's much counter space in my kitchen! ^_^;;; Unless you really want to make it yourself?

I'd feel better if you made it. XD; I've only made pie crust one way, and that involves Crisco, which they don't have here. Since the filling itself is gonna be a gamble, it would be good if part of the pie was the way it should be, at least in theory.

Pumpkin pie crust is ready to go, and the nashi pie is cooking... Hope it turns out all right! Would it be horribly gauche of me to test a small slice before serving it to my guests? XD

I agree. One can never have too many pies.

BUT I HAVE AN EXTRA NASHI! I bought 2 just in case -- hah, one was more than enough, I ended up eating a few slices that didn't fit in the pie! XD
