Now we find out who the top ten will be!

I'm definitely not used to having sore ribs and a sore back because of ballet, but it's a satisfying ache. It means I worked muscles that need work! I really hope Inui-sensei (I don't care what his real name is, he's Inui-sensei to me! XD) is the regular teacher for the Tuesday class. *checks schedule* He is! Hmm, he also teaches the basic class on Thursdays and Saturdays. Thursdays I usually have a private student in the evening, but I suppose I can bring my dance things to work in case she cancels at the last minute; otherwise I'll go to the Friday class in Shinjuku (I'd prefer than anyway, so my Friday evenings are free). Saturdays... this week it's a 3-hour class?! O_O Damn, it's already full.
There was one woman at last night's class that I couldn't stop watching while we were doing the small jumps because she was just so good. It didn't even look like she was touching the floor between movements! Someday, I want to look half as good as she did. Mada mada da ne! Because my assemblés suck. Actually, suck doesn't even begin to describe them. TT______TT But it's good to have a goal in life, right? For the moment, my goal is to be able to actually clear the floor properly when doing quick assemblés in succession. Gotta train those thigh muscles!
Doing ballet in Japanese is a challenge because talk of physical things isn't something I've had much experience with. Good thing I have the teacher demonstrating the movements in front of me! And that I'm familiar with words that come up every other sentence, like 伸びて. ^_^
And now, it's time for So You Think You Can Dance!
Mmm, Cat with a wavy bob and a demure-yet-sexy black dress. I approve! 8D
Melissa & Ade (disco): Ade was awesome, but Melissa just seemed kind of... heavy. Both in the way she moved, and in the trouble Ade seemed to have lifting her. Not because she's big, by any stretch, but she didn't seem to be on the same level, energy-wise, as Ade. But the judges loved it, so what do I know? *shrug*
(waltz): Lovely, classy, smooth.
Kayla & Kupono (contemporary): A Mia Michaels routine that brought me to tears. This was powerful, powerful stuff, almost painful. Intense, flawlessly danced.
(Broadway): Cute and fun, but not memorable. I'll probably forget about this once the show is over, whereas their previous one will stay with me.
Caitlin & Jason (foxtrot): Smooth, cool, jazzy. Nice to watch, though I wouldn't call it really memorable. But it was lovely to watch, and they look the part.
(Lyrical jazz): A nice piece, some interesting partnering work, but not amazing. Just really good. And in a show with so much talent and so many outstanding dances, that's not really enough, eh?
Jeanine & Phillip (Russian folk dance): Nigel was right about this, I think. It was fun to have this style, but it lacked enough of a WOW factor to make up for the fact that it's Russian folk dancing, and doesn't have quite the same appeal that Bollywood would for an audience who knows nothing about either one.
(Jive): This was fun, and though Phillip slipped, he managed to pull it off! You could still tell he hasn't really had any training, but he did well.
Randi & Evan (hip hop): Randi is pregnant! Or so the choreography would have us believe.
(Samba): Man, I love this couple, and I want to pinch Randi's cheeks. Or maybe do other stuff to her. ^_^ NOM NOM NOM. The routine could have been super sexy, but they didn't really manage that aspect of it, though I thought they did well all the same.
Janette & Brandon (Argentine tango): Seriously, Janette is scorching. *______* Man, that was hot. Sex on legs! :D
(Jazz): Wade Robson can do no wrong, it seems, and neither can these two. They're perfect together.
Gah, this is another tough one to call. I think Caitlin & Jason will be in the bottom three, not because they were at all bad, but just because their dances weren't show-stoppers. Jeanine & Phillip, probably, because of what they pulled. And then... I don't know, I think Janette & Brandon are the only ones who are truly safe. So let's say the third couple will be Kayla & Kupono. (Watch it be Randi & Evan, but I just like them too much to even think of them not making the top ten!)
And the votes are in!
Fantastic opening number from Tabitha and Napoleon! I'm not a huge fan of The White Stripes, but Seven Nation Army is one song I really like, and the choreography rocked.
Two out of three ain't bad! I was right about Caitlin & Jason and Jeanine & Phillip, but the other couple is Melissa & Ade.
Solos are done and OMG ADE!!! I'm pretty sure he just threw gravity out the window, because how else could he have managed that height in his flip?!? :O
I'm not sure who they'll send home. I don't think it will be Melissa, and I want Ade to stay because I really like him. They may cut Phillip, for lack of training, but then again, they love a good growth story, right? Caitlin's been in the bottom several times, but I liked her solo better than Jeanine's. However, I think they'll favour Jeanine. I'll go out on a limb and say Caitlin and Phillip will be leaving.
Aaaaand I was right! I'm good at this! They should invite me to be a judge. XD
What I love the most about this season, I think (apart from the fact that all the dancers are really good and hot, and the choreographers just keep outdoing themselves, and Cat Deeley's stylist is obviously in love with her and wants her to look more beautiful each episode), is that the girls are so strong, and I find that overall, they're more memorable than the guys. The winner had better be a girl, this time!
