Exciting Times

It's not consumption! Or at least, the doctor doesn't think so. Though I was a tad worried when the little chunk I coughed up this morning had some blood in it, I had an amusing vision of myself reclining on a récamier, wearing a white muslin dress and coughing delicately into a lace handkerchief.
Anyway, he gave me some [stronger than last time] antibiotics and a bunch of other pills to stop the cough, the inflamation, and also the sputum. Here's hoping they work! I'm kind of tired of the coughing, especially now that I feel like my lungs are raw. It's really a lung cough, not a throat one.
All this sort of pales when compared to last night's fever, which though I have no thermometer to measure such things, can't have been much else; my forehead was burning to the touch, but I was shivering and it took two blankets and a sheet to warm me up. It passed eventually, though it came back a bit during the day. I took my temperature at work, and the thermometer said 36.4 -- I suppose that means a horrible fever, since that thermometer has never given me a reading higher than 36 even.
Off to bed now. I'll try not to cough up anymore blood! ^_^v

Date: 2011-06-28 02:48 pm (UTC)The doctor said it was an upper respiratory track infection, so not deep enough to be bronchitis or pneumonia.

I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend. Sorry you're sick. I'm glad it's not TB or consumption. I hope it's not malaria. I wish I could give you an acupuncture treatment.

Date: 2011-06-28 02:51 pm (UTC)I'm feeling better now, thanks. I've never had an acupuncture treatment, but for some reason, I think it would tickle! I'm very ticklish. ^_^
